NOTD: Essence Bad Girl (Cute as Hell)

Today my manicure is orange. And it's more orange than it is in the bottle, plus for some reason it looks kinda neon on my fingers.

Natural light (no sun)
Artificial light
Natural light (no sun)

The apply was not problematic. It went on nice and smooth, the easiest of all three I tried out. But I don't think it really suits me =).

How do you like the orange color?

Review: Silk Whitia Mineral Cation Whitening Mask

I tried this mask a week ago, and I kind of forgot to review it.
It comes in a huge package, which is bigger than my face is. Huge!

I have combination skin, and it worked OK for me.

I took it out of its package (it opens on the side, which is a bit messy), and realized that this too was a gel mask. It wasn't as messy as the other one, but it did stain my shirt.
Inside there was this weird half moon plastic thing, that was close to the mask. I am not sure what it is, but I suppose it is a moisture locker? Or whatever really.

You can keep this mask on for 20 - 30 minutes, which means extra 10 minutes to spoil yourself!

The mask is sized well, so it perfectly fit my face. Except on the sides, but when it comes to size it is OK.

The scent is pleasant, for me, it smelled like apricot seeds. A fresh, natural scent but with a hint of artificial in it.
Luckily I couldn't smell it after a couple of minutes.

My hands were all greasy after I applied the mask (the mask comes with lots of liquid in it -30ml), and when they dried, they were sticky.
I applied it when I was lying down because I want to enjoy my mask time to the maximum. And there's one reason more - usually, these masks are leaking their essence liquid.

But even if I was lying down, the liquid was dripping on my neck. Not the best thing, ever but I survived it.

It gave me a cooling feeling all the time I was wearing it, which was kind of funny but not annoying.
But the most important thing, it didn't irritate my skin!

Pros:
+ The scent
+ Didn't irritate my skin
+ Left me with smooth skin
+ Moisturized my skin

Cons:
- It is super expensive
- Too much liquid in it
- The package is way too big to be practical

After the recommended time, I took it off and washed my face. Since it is a gel like a mask, it took me some time to get my face really clean. After that, I applied my toner (Garnier Essentials Fresh) and Jojoba oil (this is my night regime).
It didn't whiten my face (as it says), but it did make feel my face clean and smooth. It also moisturized it nicely, which is always a big plus.

Price: 6$ / one on Sasa.com
Rating: 3/5 ♥♥♥ (because it is super expensive!)

Overall: I don't think I will ever buy these masks because I think they are way too expensive for the effect they give you. It left me with moisturized skin, but that was practically it. Nothing special, but I am glad it didn't irritate my skin. Overall it is a nice mask, but for a daily mask, it is  just over my budget. But then again, if you can afford it, you should try it.

NOTD: Essence Naughty but Nice (Cute as Hell)

Today I want to show you the brightest of the polishes from this collection. I finally managed to get all of them, so when I will try everyone, I will post them in one entry.

Here it is!
(artificial light)

(natural light)

(artificial light)

I love this color, it is actually my first yellow nail polish. It goes on easily, but I felt like polishing my nails for the first time, because of the somehow thick formula.
But other than that, I had no problems!

The smallest of them all - haul

Today I went to DM, because I read that they're getting the Essence Cute as Hell collection this week. And of course I had to be the first one to grab all I possibly could.. <.<

Anyhow I was lucky, because there it was.. an intact Essence stand. Wow wow wow..  I was too excited! I almost missed the main reason why I got there - the yellow nail polish.

After a couple of seconds thinking I grabbed two of each bottles, except the pink. I was thinking about giving them to some girls from a forum I am on, or giving them to my sister.
After texting her about them,  well there was no doubt. The nail polishes will go to her.

Hopefully all you girls who are still dreaming about these nail polishes, will find them in some lost DMs. ♥

I got myself a cleaning cream, because honestly I got bored of bringing all my cleansing stuff to my bf. I hope it will be ok.
And I am sorry for the crappy pictures.. ._.
Swatches will come this week!

  • Essence 01 Naughty but nice
  • Essence 02 Bad girl
  • Essence 04 Date me!
  • Essence 03 Not just cute

I hope you will have a lovely week, my dear readers!

xoxo,
Tamara

Review: Silk Whitia Organic Strawberry Mask

This is the second mask I tried this week.
It was the first time trying it, so my review might not be the most accurate.

The back side

I have combination skin with oily T-zone and normal - dry cheeks, but this mask is appropriate for all skin types except sensitive. Which I think is a paradox, because it says it helps PREVENT sensitivity.

The packaging is nice, looks very pretty to me, especially the strawberry drawing. It kinda makes you expect a strawberry scent. And there it is, but it is more of a candy strawberry smell than fresh strawberries.

The sheet is very gentle, great quality one. But I went like 'YUCK' when I took it out. Why? Because I didn't expect it to be a gel mask. I mean I never tried a sheet mask that had some sort of gel in it.

It was a bit slippery, so I had quite a hard time applying it correctly. But after I managed to do so, ah it was time to relax!

You can keep the mask on for 15-20 minutes, but since I wanted to get the most out of it, I went for 20 minutes.

I didn't wash my hands after I applied it, I just lied down. My hands felt greasy and sticky at the same time. Then the feeling was gone, but the stickiness didn't go away until 5 minutes later.

About 10 minutes after I applied the mask, I got this weird burning sensation. It wasn't really strong, but it was noticeable. The feeling grew a bit stronger, but I still decided to keep the mask on for another 10 minutes.
Luckily the feeling went away after a couple of minutes later. Don't get me wrong, my skin is NOT sensible.

When 20 minutes have passed, I stood up (at this time the mask was practically glued on my face, so it didn't fall off) and took it off. It is not a leave - on the mask so I washed my face thoughtfully. It took me some time since the mask left behind this sluggish feeling.

I noticed that my cheeks were red from irritation and they even felt a bit dry too. My face didn't feel really moisturized at all. The skin over my brows was really dry.

So I applied toner (Garnier Fresh Essentials) and over it Jojoba oil to calm down the irritation. It worked.

Pros:
+ Smells nice
+ It is very well priced
+ Comes in a handy package

Cons:
- It irritated my skin
- It is more of a gel-like texture than a waterish one
- It is slimy
- It was hard to wash off
- Price

Price: If I am not mistaken it is 18$ for 4 on Sasa.com (currently sold out)

Rating: 1/5 ♥

Overall:
Well, I didn't like the gel consistency of the mask, but I loved how great the sheet mask felt on my skin. Pure love! The smell wasn't that bad either, it stopped my sugar cravings because of its sweetness. Sadly it didn't work out, as my skin got irritated. Tho I have to admit, it left my skin feeling smooth. I wouldn't repurchase (this was part of a swap tho), even if I love sheet masks. For me, it has more negative proprieties than positive, so it is definitely a no-go for me.

Blogger drama

I know that there's been lots of drama in the blogging world lately. It's been about an article (or two)  that said that beauty bloggers and fashion bloggers are dishonest because they get free items / best seats at runways. They even said that we should not be blogging because we aren't PRO makeup artists and sh*t like that.

What the heck. Blogging is fun, especially because we can share our thoughts on stuff that worked for the US. It works for us, it MAY NOT do the same for you. And most of all when buying stuff, you would probably want to read more than just one OPINION?!

And bloggers are interesting too because we all come from different cultures and we have different lifestyles.

I think that if people really thought that bloggers were that sh*tty, they wouldn't read them at all.
I still think that reading an opinion from a blogger is more realistic than an opinion from a magazine.

Come on, they get items to review too, and nobody says anything to them?!

Are magazines really THAT afraid of US?!

Swap with Vanilla

Some time ago me and Vanilla agreed on doing a swap. I wanted some Etude House items and I said that I'll send her some Essence stuff.

At first we said that it is going to be a small swap, but I kinda lost the feeling while shopping for her. So it turned out to be a big swap!

I sent her some goodies, and so did she!

I am posting this because, honestly I feel lazy today and I wanted you to droll over something :)).

If you are wondering, the Mug thing is a quick Ramen thing. You put it in a cup, pour boiling water over it and wait for 3 minutes. I love such junk food, I can't have enough of it!

I got lots of sheet masks and regular masks to try out!
I LOVE sheet masks. But sadly, they are nowhere to be found in Slovenia.

I already started using some of the items, so expect new reviews! :)

Well I hope you will have a great weekend, I hope mine will be and that I won't feel as lazy as I do tonight...

xoxo,
Tamara

Review: TheFaceShop Cereal Mung Bean Sheet Mask

I got a couple of masks from Vanilla because we swamped a couple of items <3.

One of the masks was this sheet mask by The Face Shop. I am a big fan of sheet masks, but unfortunately, they do not sell them here. So the swap was really great, I LOVE sheet masks and she sent me LOTS!

Description
Packed with various healthy cereals, this mask sheet gives effectively vital power to your skin .
Soothing Mung Bean famous for its detoxifying quality, soothes irritation and breakout of the skin while supplying protein-rich moisture. Great for oily acne-prone skin.

Ingredients

The mask itself is really easy to use. You wash your face so it is squeaky clean, open the package and take out the mask. Then you open the mask up and put it on your face and adjust it to its size.

The mask itself has an interesting smell. Not strong but noticeable. I could smell alcohol, which I didn't like and some citrus smell.

After I applied it, it was a bit cold but it soon adjusted to my face temperature. The smell went away (or let's say I stopped smelling it) and I could relax for the next 20 minutes. 10 minutes later I felt this strange tingling effect on my chin and one cheek. It was like if my skin was hurting for a couple of seconds, a cold weird feeling. Luckily it went away after a couple of minutes.

When I took it off, I patted into my skin the remains of the sheet mask (from the baggie). It felt really refreshing and it soaked in quickly. I applied some on my neck and chest area too.

After the mask, my skin felt clean, refreshed and most important - smooth!
I am a sold soul because of the smoothing effect!
Then I applied Jojoba oil to finish my skin routine, with which it worked really well.

Pros:
+ It is cheap
+ Effective
+ It didn't break me out
+ The smell was pleasant even if a bit artificial
+ It worked well with jojoba oil afterward

Cons:
- The alcohol scent of it
- The weird feeling I got at some point while wearing the mask

Rating: 4/5 ♥♥♥♥
Price: 2,5$ on Ebay

Overall:
Well no matter all, I love it! I really liked the soft skin it left me behind and the fact that my skin felt refreshed and smooth! I would repurchase even if the downside is a bit alcoholic smell of it!

NOTD: Essence Not Just Cute (Cute as Hell LE)

I still want all the other nail polishes from this set, but it's almost impossible getting them! So for now, here is the Not Just Cute nail polish.

A nice pink, cream polish. It was easy to apply, but it isn't as pigmented so three layers were a must!
Please excuse the dry cuticle skin. Today I got myself lots of stuff for it, so yes.. :)

Flash

Oh and ladies and gentleman - some Essence items are being discontinued so their price is 0,95€. This way I paid for 6 items just 5.70€!!

Review: Revlon Fantasy Lenghts False Lashes

Some time ago, I received a couple of false lashes from Revlon. It was quite a while ago, and I'm sorry for the late review.

I am really not a false lashes person, but this was an interesting experience nonetheless!

I got two different kinds of false lashes. The ones that come with the glue (regular ones) and the self-adhesive lashes!

Revlon False Lashes - Regular:

Blue Shadow

Black Brown

The regular false lashes were genius! When I put them on right, I couldn't feel them at all! Plus the glue would hold for lots of hours without a problem!
I wore them a couple of times and I must say, they ARE really natural looking (I am talking about my favorite ones; Black-Brown which is made for Blondies).
I loved wearing them, and I wish I had the patience to wear them a couple of times per week.
They are not hard to put on. To me it takes just max 5 minutes more - but when I am in a hurry, then I really am in a hurry which is most of the time.
They weren't all that problematic to put on. I just put some glue on the lashes, waited 30 seconds and put them on. I first pressed on my lashes the MIDDLE part of the falsies. This way I wouldn't have so many problems with putting on the two side corners of the false lashes.

I loved the fact that I put them on, and could go EVERYWHERE without waiting. I mean, I always had this problem with falsies that I had to wait because I wasn't sure it they would feel heavy on my eyes and poke them. Luckily this is where quality 'walks in'. Revlon has some GREAT QUALITY falsies!

Pros:
+ Really natural looking / + there are some bold designs
+ Comfortable
+ Good quality
+ Lightweight on my eyes
+ The included glue is OK
+Good for newbies too!
+Cheap

Cons:
- It takes some time to put them on
-Not available everywhere (like here - we don't have them in stores)

Rating: 5/5 ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Repurchase? YES

Revlon Self Adhesive Technology :

Defining

These were problematic. I mean the quality is the same - great. But the way you apply it.  Damn that's some hardcore stuff!
In the package, you get false lashes and an applicator.
I mean it is not a real applicator, it is a thing with which you press the falsies onto the glue after you used them and cleaned them.

Okay, so far it sounds good. But man,...  The package is designed in a way that it is kind of really hard getting false lashes out of the box with tweezers. I mean I almost ripped off mine!

And then the glue...  It doesn't want to stick no matter what. I tried, a friend tried and,... NOTHING!
I know that I am clumsy, and when I am in a hurry I don't want to be trying to stick the false lashes with a new patent.

Honestly, these weren't for me. I took the glue off on the other pair and stored it, so I could use them without. Because the lashes are great, but the application just plain sucks.

You can see on the pictures that the falsies didn't want to stick!

Pros:
+Great quality
+The idea of falsies good to go
+Cheap

Cons:
 - It is hard to take the fake lashes out of the box
-The glue doesn't stick well
- If you miss, it the glue becomes useless
-Not the easiest thing to work with
-Not for newbies (as I am)

Rating: 1/5 ♥
Repurchase: NO

Overall:
Even if I loved the classical Revlon False Lashes, I really disliked the false lashes 'on the go'. I couldn't work with them no matter what. The glue wouldn't stick and the lashes would fall off. Countless times.
The classic lashes (with glue included) were great on the other hand. Easy to work with, even for a newbie as I am and long lasting. After cleaned they were as good as new! Even if I won't be repurchasing the Self Adhesive False lashes, I will be getting a couple of pairs of regular false lashes from Revlon. They totally got me with those!
I know that I am not a false lashes person, but sometimes there is an occasion when I want to look extra polished, and that is the right occasion for me to wear them!

NOTD: OPI Mad as a Hatter!

I got the mini set from OPI Alice in Wonderland because of this nail polish....  but but...
Well I didn't really like it, after I applied it. The Jessica Xmas one was better.

Anyway here it is!
neon light

 outside natural light (no sun)
inside light

 outside

And for the end, the small bottle (super small - 3.75ml).

What do you think about it?

EOTD: After 12 hours

In the morning, before I went to work I decided to play with the kleancolor palette some more. This time I used a wet brush to apply them!

Here is what the MU looks after 12 hours (5 work, 2 nap etc)...

Pretty good no? Usually the make up goes into my creases after 5 hours, but it seems I have found my new HG (UDPP).

Excuse the mascara smudging, I just woke up from my nap and I didn't realize that it smudged. And excuse the wet spot or w/e it is.

I used:
*Urban Decay Primer Potion
*Kleancolor palette in Rainbow
* Essence liquid eyeliner
* Estee Lauder Double wear mascara + a hint of Essence Carbon Black mascara

The colors I used from the kleancolor palette:

And thank you to all the new followers and the 'old' ones still following me! <3

EOTD: Valentine's Seduction

Since I can't show you my NOTD (it's been the same for the whole last week + the bear and it doesn't want to chip and I'm lazy so ... yeah), I decided to play around with my newly addition to my MU collection.

Kleancolor 35 Rainbow Palette! I got it from ebay for a bit less than 3$ + 3$ shipping!
It came in today, but sadly a part of it was broken :(.

But first lets move to the Valentine's day make up. I wanted it to be seductive so I added black eye pencil in the waterline.

I used:
* Kleancolor 35 Rainbow palette
*UDPP (damn glitter shows up like sh*t)
*Estee Lauder Double Wear Mascara
*Essence long lasting Eyeliner
*Alverde Gel liner

Now let me show you the palette :). It was super cheap but it is REALLY pigmented! I had a bit of a problem in showing up all the colors over UDPP, because some of them have shimmer in them.

Here is the broken part :(.

I glued the small part back on with Epoxy glue, and I hope it will hold...
Well anyway I hope you liked the eye make up ;).

xoxo,
Tamara

Parisky dreAms phone charm

Some time ago, I asked my sister to make me a pink phone charm. I only wanted it to be pink and shiny...

So here's what she came out with:

Isn't it gorgeous? So simple yet so pretty!?

I've been using it since I got it, and it still looks great!

She has a new store, if you' like to check it out, dreAms!

Have fun,
Tamara
