NOTD: Essence Very Berry (Jelly baby LE)

For all of you who asked how does Jelly baby look on nail, here's a picture. Of course mine isn't exactly the same as the one you'll get, because mine is from the Jelly Baby LE, and the one in the giveaway is from the Show Your Feet edition. Which is more pigmented (yay!), longer lasting and antiseptic.

Excuse me the white tips, but I reshaped my nails and now that they're more square like, the white tip shows quickly. Plus I don't like them this way. Nope, too chubby!

Inside light:

I am not holding the bottle, because I was at my bf's place and well I left it at home.

How do you like this color? I think that in RL it is a bit warmer than on the picture. But still, pretty realistic.

EDIT: Almost a year later and with a better camera here are some new pictures!

Inside light

Natural light

Natural light

Weird. Outside it's very warm toned (I love it) and inside it is a bit more cold toned. So outside it's more like the new pictures and inside like the old picture.

Contest Entry: Once upon a M.A.C Collection

Since today I had nothing to do, I spent half of the day, trying to recreate this look: This is from MAC's Barbie style edition. You wonder why? MzKrystall is having a contest! I hate hate falsies! When I put them on, ofter a while, they start falling off! GRRR! I guess I should try to use the perm lashes glue (I have it + remover). This is how I interpreted it (click on the images to view the bigger size): Close up: Closed eyes: Front look: Close look 2: Front look 2: Honestly, it's hard to take pictures of your own self! I tried it for the first time, and hell I do look dumb! Plus I need to dye my hair again. But ah I still have no idea which color were used on that girl, wtf? Nvm, that's why contests are,.. so we can interpreted it in our own way! Here's what I used + falsies: *Costal Scents blush and countour palette *Revlon ColorStay in Buff 150 *Manhattan Trio (I used thw white color only) *Gosh Trio (again the white sparkling color) *Essence white eyeliner pencil *Essence black eyeliner pencil *Essence liquid eyeliner *L'Oreal Collagene mascara *Manhattan lip liner *2 unnamed lipsticks (rose color and purple) *Manhattan Rose lipstick *Essence Frosted lipstick (light pink) *Costal Scents primer *Costal Scents mineral eyeshadow in Cactus blossom *Lime Crime eyeshadow in Primadonna *Lime Crime eyeshadow in Pink Poodle *Lime Crime eyeshadow in Twilight *Some Chinese false lashes I am a bit disappointed. I know I could take better pictures, but I was loosing my mind because the lashes were falling off! The contest is located here.

NOTD: Essence Obsession

Today my nail broke at the end, so I had to shorten it a bit, but I couldn't find my glass pile?! So I used a random one I found in the house.. It broke because my nails were bare naked (I took off the nail polish after it got off like a sticker on my thumb!) and my ring finger nail started breaking in layers *cry*. I wanted to try this nail polish so hard! But honestly it's really pretty but I got tiny air bubbles, which I don't like. But I didn't use any base coat, because I hate it when I can take off nail polish like a sticker, so ew! And I think that's a reaction I have because of the base polish. We'll see. This color is a pretty light purple with a mixture of pink, it also has a frost finish! So true, it's a little obsession. Outside light: Inside light: Do you girls hate it too, when air bubbles create on the nail polish? What do you do to fix it?

Review: Kamill Soft & Dry hand cream

As some of you may know, I have this thing for hand creams. I can't live without a hand cream, and when I go to sleep, I make sure that there's one just next to my bed! I currently have five hand creams (opened) but I use only three of them. I almost used up the Neutrogena one and the Essence hand cream. But this time, it's time to review my latest addition to my little collection of hand creams.

Kamill Soft and Dry hand cream - 75ml. I bought it in a supermarket - Mercator for 2,75€. I was choosing between a Dove hand cream or this one. But this one won, for some reason. That was a bit less than two weeks ago. And I've already used so much of it, but the thing is that even if there's a tiny hole, the cream is quite liquid and so a lot of it gets out!

application:

blended:

It's a nice cream that really moisturizes my hands, even a little better than Essence hand cream does! But after two weeks, it doesn't have the same effect as before. Oh well!

Ingredients:

Pros:
  • *Hygienic packaging
  • *Gentle scent
  • *Moisturizes my hands nicely
  • *You can take it anywhere
  • *Should last you a month at the price of 2,75€ of everyday usage
Cons:
  • *It's too liquid, but that isn't a big minus
  • *With one squeeze of the tube, too much cream goes out!
  • *After apply there's a watery feeling on the hands
Rating: 4/5

Overall:
I can't say it's the best of the creams I've tried so far, but it's better than the Essence 12h repair cream. But still, I'm not sure if I would buy it again because it gets used up too fast. Plus the scent is gentle but a little bit artificial. I really wish it could work perfectly for me, but it does not. But it's a nice product for those who have dry hands, it helps for a couple of.. minutes. Sorry if this review isn't really detailed, but I'm dying over here. I need to sleep, but again if I would go to sleep, I would feel that my day was wasted. Plus it's raining and I want to go out (hahaha how weird is that, when there was the sun I was hiding inside like a worm!). Oh well, #_#.

NOTD: Essence Superstar

My nail of the day! I love this color, it's gentle pink with a frost finish. Okay, I don't like the frost finish, because I don't like to see the brush stripes or w/e, but it's still pretty! It's so pretty that I colored my toe nails with it too! natural light: Photobucket shadow: Photobucket flash light: Photobucket Two layers. I absolutely love it! I think it makes look prettier my skin tone, doesn't it?

Contest Entry: Disney contest - Tinkerbell

I wanted to do a simple contest entry for the beginning.. And I thought that the Disney themed was perfect for it! On a second thought.. most girls made some awesome make up looks, so I don't stand a chance, ahahah... Anyway Tinkerbell has a really simple and clean look. Photobucket I may overdid it, but I love exaggerating.. uh. This was my 2nd time ever to use false lashes! yay for me! This is the first time you'll actually see my full face. Oh nooo! I was thinking if that's a good idea, but hell, why not?! I didn't use any foundation as for it, but I used the mushroom BB cream instead. I didn't have any green dress/shirt so I got just semi like portrait photos. (click on the pictures for view the full size!) I am not naked, I am just wearing a tank top. Here are the items I used (of course the lashes are not exact the same as I used, because I'm wearing them ahemm..) * Blush brush * Small crease brush * Bigger eyelid brush * False lashes * Two shades of brown from the no brand palette * No brand blusher in orange * Gosh trio eyeshadow - I used the lightest color for the highlight * Black Essence pencil * Black Essence eyeliner * L'Oreal Collagene mascara * Maybelline lipstick in 411 Windsor Rose (which is almost exactly the same color as my lips are naturally) The Disney contest can be found here: Click me! I am not sure about it, but okay.. I tried ;). The photos are a courtesy of my dear.

NOTD:Essence VIP Appeal

Yesterday or the day before my sister sent me a picture of this pretty baby on her nails (yah we do that - send pictures of nail polishes). She said something like 'it would be prefect for your blog', or at least I understood it that way. So here it is! I had it on my nails for a day too, it was really nice! The application was kind of really dense, it dried itself quickly (during apply! so you have to be really fast) but otherwise it was cool! I liked that it was actually dry after some short minutes. I know that lots of people don't like these Color & Go because of the application problems, but if you can work your way quickly, then it's just perfect for you! It can be compared to Essie Status Symbol, but status symbol is a tad darker, but still it's really pretty!
What do you think? Do you like the color?

Quick Reminder!

For all those who posted an entry without an existing link to your blog (talking about my contest) and I deleted you, you can re-enter with posting again under the giveaway blog with your entry! Twittering is allowed.

Do It Yourself: Olive scrub

Hello everyone! No, I did not forget about you at all! I came home from swimming and I was destroyed. That's what the sea does to me :). Since I didn't want to let you down or anything, plus I wanted to try this recipe for a while.. Well here's what I have for you today! Olive scrub! I used it on my hands, but it works for the body, lips (be gentle!) and even your face! The recipe: *1 spoon of sugar *a bit of olive oil, so you can make some kind of pasta (you can change sugar for salt too - tho that's a more hars scrub so don't use it more than twice in a month!) Then massage it into the hands/face/body wait a while (lets say max 5 minutes, tho you can have it on for a little longer or less too - I had it on for about two minutes) and then wash it off! You'll be left with super smooth skin (if it's a bit oily, just wipe it off, the olive oil isn't supposed to clog your pores! It made my hands really smooth, tho I think I rubbed the sugar too hard so they hurt a little, hehe.. But I love how it 'feed' my cuticles! There's a big plus to this little recipe! It's natural, it doesn't have any added fragrances (I guess you can add some eteric oil, for the scent. Enjoy your new body/hands/face/feet/lips scrub! ^^ xoxo

Review: Balm Balm lip balm

You may remember my post when I raved about my newest haul at that time. In it, there was this Balm Balm Pablum... Which I found really adorable plus it's made of natural ingredients.

Now, almost a month later it looks like this:

I hit the pan! At that time it wasn't this hot so it was pretty dense. I liked how smooth it applied and how it took care of my lips. Now that everything is melting (including me) the lip balm is kind of melting too. But not too much, just so it doesn't have any uneven pieces in it. It's so smooth! Its smell is quite neutral, no perfume or anything just like a natural smell.
 Interesting, I must say.

This is how it looks on my hand. I applied a little too much, but it melted right away, because of the heat.

On my super weird lips (yes I have a sun spot on my lips):

The Pros: *The price, it was 5€ for a 100% natural product

  • *The smell - it almost has none
  • *It takes care of my lips really well, moisturizing them perfectly!
  • *because of that I don't have to reapply it all that soon.
  • *The look - it makes my lips look super shiny!
  • *It's perfect for home usage (or if you have super clean hands everywhere) with short nails or a spatula
  • *If you don't like it for your lips you can always use it as a hand cream, etc. It can be used as anything really!

The Cons:

  • *When I had long nails I honestly hated it. I couldn't get the product normally out because it would all go under my nail, ew! I suggest a spatula or something like that.

Rating: 4/5 ♥

Overall: I like it, if I would tough of a spatula sooner, then I'd have absolutely no problems with it. It hydrates my lips great plus I love applying it. I would surly recommend it! I even like the fact that you can use it for anything. Hands, body, knees, etc. You can ever buy a bigger pot with the same product! Pretty, cool.

Mixed Haul

Hello everyone! Today it was super hot! And because of that I wanted to prove myself, that I can put my make up (complete!) even if I'm melting.. Well I did it, but then I had to turn on my 'portable' air conditioner.. Uf, man it was too hot! I went with my dear to Nova Gorica, where we went to Qlandia. I love love shopping! But I said I only need a pair of summer strap shoes and a hair band. But I ended with these:
They're not all from the same store... So I got:
  • *A magazine about hair (I think I'm starting to develop some obsession here) -3€
  • *Labello SPF 25 - 3€+
  • *Lactacyd Femina 3€+
  • *Luna hand soap (I honestly love this brand!) - maybe 2€
  • *Raid Anti-mosquito thing - no idea
  • *Autan anti-mosquito Gel - no idea
  • *Autan anti-mosquito Spray (I hate hate mosquitoes!) - no idea
  • *Jewelery box - 7€
  • *Quite big fake leather hair bow (it's so cute, I had to wear it right away!) - 3,50€
  • *Three hair straps (dark blue) - 3,90€
  • *Strap shoe - 6€
  • *Strap shoe with some metal parts - 13€
I love love those strap shoes. All these items were a courtesy of my dearest.. Thank you Hanny! *hug* I got the cheapest strap shoes ever, simply because I get bored of them in these three months that summer lasts, so I don't feel guilty throwing them away. But the second pair of strap shoes is just.. amazing! I mean they don't look anything like special when they're not worn, but when they are... they are special! I was so excited over them that I had to try them right away.
I think that here my foot is too much in the front because in rl they look so much prettier. But still, you get the idea. ;) It was super fun (shopping, eating, visiting my parents) but before I got home my nail polish chipped! And after that I could get off the nail polish like if it were a sticker! EW! This is the third time that it happened on that nail, buhu... Well have fun ladies (and gentlemen), xoxo

NOTD: Essence Mix

Yesterday I decided that having just one color on my nails is just plain boring.. I wanted to try layering nail polishes. So I firstly put on Essie Fill The Gap as a base (tho it doesn't go well along with some nail polishes, hmm), then Essie It's Genius for the first color and then Essie Bold and Beautiful for the second color. The bad thing is that Bold and Beautiful is too pigmented for what I wanted to do, but it still came out really nice. And for finish everything I put on Essie Good To Go + Essence quick dry spray. A big mess, heh? All those steps didn't take much time, since I did my manicure in a lazy way. Which means inaccurate. (natural light, without sun) But I like the result. If you look really closely (in RL) you can see the gold shimmer underneath, pretty neat.. But what do you think?

Review: Essence Lipsticks

I passed my exam, yay! That means more blog posts and that it's time to look for a new job!
I'm sorry that I didn't post much for the last two days or so, but I was really stressed out.

Last month I wanted to review these two lipsticks, but then ahem, I got lazy. =)
I have one lipstick from Manhattan (it's creamy, but it's almost the exact color of my lips! Didn't know when I was buying it, I was trying to get a matching color for my skin tone), and these two from Essence.

If I'm not mistaken they're priced a little above 1€ (but max 3€), which is really cheap for a good lipstick!

I have them in color 01 which is a cold pink and 19 which is a really shimmery brown.
I don't wear lipsticks much because I love lip balsams of all the stuff I put on my lips. But they're a nice upgrade for a normal or night look.

Photobucket

Excuse the terrible look of part of the lipsticks, but if I take any lipstick too much out, I tend to break them (all!). These did not break (yet), but I had to hit them on the cup. I know, I'm clumsy, that's one of the reasons I don't wear lipsticks, too!

The Swatch:
Photobucket

When it comes to coverage I think they're somewhere in the middle, the frosted one is quite pigmented, but the brown one is much or less a tiny bit of brown with lots of shimmers.
The shimmer isn't annoying because it's not really big, but I don't like the fact that when the lipstick wears off, the shimmer stays on the lips!

They are really creamy, have added E vitamin to them so they feel nice on the lips too.

The Frosted is a really light cold pink, which looks really nice alone, but I prefer to combine it with other lipsticks and lip gloss, because I don't have pure white teeth but they have a tiny bit of yellow in them (I guess those are genes), and with such a cold color it's really noticeable.

The Pros:

  • *The price, they are really affordable.
  • *The consistency, they feel great on the lips!
  • *The look, they are super cute!
  • *The smell, they smell like candy!

The Cons:

  • *They are not really resistant. They would stay on your lips for about three hours and then you'd have to touch them up. I guess they can be compared to some lip glosses.

Overall:

I guess they're ok for someone who would like to try a lipstick for the first time, but doesn't want to spend much on them anyway, plus for a starter, it may be a plus that some colors aren't really that opaque.

Essence mini haul

Hello! Today I wanted to share with you all my yesterday's Essence haul (well mostly), but my bfs internet is so damn slow I can't even upload a picture on photobucket! Oh so it DID work on blogger! I guess it's clickable too, YAY! No more photobucket <3! So from left to right:
  • *Manhattan LE 302 nail polish (I've got pictures of it on my nails too, need to send them anyway) -2,99€
  • *Essence highlighter in gold (the little 'stick', it got a new home when I realized I don't need it) -2,09€
  • *Essence Feet and Leg Shimmer Lotion (it's really really sparkly, and it has mint in it, so it gives a nice cooling feeling) -2,99€
  • *Essence Foot Protection Stick (I'm not sure about it, it makes an oily film on the skin, and it looks like glue, I have to test it out today) -2,99€
  • *Essence Heel Protection Pads (some shoes are giving me headaches) -2,99€
  • *Essence Soft Matt Eyeshadow (I'm really not a fan of their eyeshadows, but when I heard they've got some in matte.. I had to have at least one of them! There were this green color, beige, dark brown and the last one was a kind of white, I think) -1,99€
For now that's pretty much it, because I'm going to swim (hopefully) and hide in the shadow and later I really really have to study. Cya!

Swatch: Lime Crime Eyeshadows

EDIT: I have decided, that it's about time for me posting the LC swatches. And I mean better quality ones. Just applied dry. My thoughts about LC have changed a lot in the last 6 months. If you're curious what I think now, you should check the end of the post.

Hello, everyone!

I've kept those pictures for some time and today I wanted to share them with you.

Let me introduce you the majestic eyeshadows of Lime Crime Make Up line. They are amazingly pigmented, so a small bit goes a long way! I have quite a lot of them, but since I use them every day, I have an excuse ;). They're perfect for everyday look, night look and so on.
You can't miss with them!

This is my collection of LC make up:
Photobucket

The upper photo is inside light, and the lower is outside light. All images are clickable!

1. Nymph
2. Snow Queen
3. Primadonna
4. Mirror Mirror
5. Circus Girl
6. Cleopatra
7. Pink Poodle
8. Siren

9. Lime Criminal
10. Princess Caraboo
11. Enchanted
12. No name (got from V'day 09)
13. Elf
14. Mermaid

15. Medusa
16. Dragon Scale
17. Twilight
18. No name (V'day 09)
19. Duchess
20. Shoe Addict

Those are the 2nd kind of mineral eyeshadows I've tried. The others are Sweet Scents, and Lime Crime eyeshadows are so much more pigmented! I love them! It's great to combine them with regular makeup (like light browns etc), for an everyday look!

The price of each eyeshadow is 12$. I'd really really love to get Empress and Vixen Eyeshadow. They're on my Wish List.

When they got out it way my main goal to get every single eyeshadow they had. Haha, weird huh? Well, I got most of them but not all. Now I'm waiting for the new lipstick line, and then I shall write a nice review of all the things I own from them!
But let me tell you, pixie dust is my holy grail. It makes my skin look flawless and honestly, I can't live without it!

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5/5

Overall:
I love them. They're a bit expensive compared to other mineral eyeshadows, but are really pigmented! I'd recommend them to those who like strong makeup (and resistant!).
And to those who like to try out new styles and can't find the right shades.
I mean, I recommend them to practically EVERYONE, because everyone has the right to be pretty.

Okay, I admit; a lime crime addict.

EDIT: For those of you who find interest in the comparison between their eye shadows and other companies eye shadows, read here.
Since this is my blog, I can honestly post whatever I want. If I once adored LC, now I am more realistic about it. I like the eyeshadows, but I wouldn't repurchase them.
Not because of the price, but because I don't like being lied to, plus I don't really like sobbing sad videos. Blah!
