NOTD: Essence Everybody's Talking About

This shade of dark pink is really gorgeous. It's like a berry pink, but lighter. I actually like it a lot and since I felt it just need some pimping up I added some holo topping and a sticker.

The result? Is very cute ;). Oh and the application was flawless, two coats for my liking, tho one could do too.

And since I got bored of the 'classic' manicure photos here's some fresh ones with a rustic background ;D.

Would you wear it?

Review: Miss Sporty So Clear Face Powder

It's been more than two months since I bought this product. I remember it being dirt cheap, and me hoping it would do its job properly on my combination skin.

Last time I checked their site - Miss Sporty it was a bunch of weird things in one place. Now it looks so much better! It has descriptions and prices, tho I think the items are a bit cheaper in our stores.

I really like that it comes in only one shade which is transparent, so it's great for every skin tone! You won't have to worry about matching your foundation ever again!

The product when I bought it

You can see the sponge inside. I threw mine away after a month - I didn't feel like cleaning it since it looked like it wanted to come apart, so I got a new one. A cheap generic one from Müller.

The packaging has gone through a lot. I was carrying it in my purse, sometimes I took it out and had it laying around before I put it in another bag. So I can say - it's very travel-friendly.

It may not look the best, it actually looks really cheap but at this point, it's all about the product inside.

The generic puff I put in after a month.

Here you can see that I've been using it quite a lot.  This is one of those products that I'm really sure I will re-buy.

The one thing I want from a compact powder is a matte effect and long lasting power. This product has both. And it doesn't look caked!

Pros:
+ Dirt cheap
+ Long lasting
+ Keeps my oily zones matte
+ Has no weird scent
+ It comes in one shade - translucent
+ Travel-friendly
+ Didn't break me out

Cons:
- Cheap looking package

Usually, my skin becomes oily after a couple of hours and then I just apply the matte compact powder. After that, I remain oil-free for something like 6 hours which is more than good enough for me (summer time! When colder it lasts the whole day).

Overall
There's nothing better than a cheap product that is really good. And for this blue gem, I can say it's fantastic. I've used many finishing powders and I know when I find a good product. One that's comparable to this is the Isadora compact powder (I remember loving it a while ago, so I need to buy it again to see what was that about), but the price difference is huge. The Essence compact powder is terrible, doesn't work well with oily skin so in the cheaper range this baby is a winner!

Review: Manly 80 Color Double Stack Palette

Hi lovelies,

I got this palette in the beginning of May from KKCenterHK and since then I've been testing it out. I must say that I really like the way it's packaged (double stack) but sadly the positive side ends here.

It contains 80 eye shadows that vary from matte to shimmer. Most of them are matte.

I was hoping for them to be super pigmented, but they are not. I am really disappointed by their quality. On the fingers (as a swatch) they look nice, but when applied on the skin they just... disappear. Well, kind of. I tried using different primers and only  with Fyrinnae Pixi Epoxy they showed up nicely.

I am used to cheap crap eyeshadows, but these are like the worst of them all. I wanted to love them and that's what took me so long. But honestly.. the suck.

But let me tell you why.
I was expecting the shimmer eye shadows to be more pigmented than the matte (as they usually are), but here it's the opposite. Matte eyeshadows are more pigmented.

And they (all of them) and very hard to blend., or even pack on more color. They just become muddy.

I tried doing a MU using 3 color, yellow, light blue and dark green. And what came out? One big green blob.

I tried using two orange shadows and a yellow one to create another look (it's neon orange), but nothing. Hardly shows on the camera.

And as last, I did a night makeup (at the start of the month) and well I had to use some UDPP to add the brown color, because it just wouldn't blend (like 2 colors nicely blended together, noo... it would become 1 color. All the shame thing, ew).

So I'm not impressed.

The lasting time depends on the primer you're using.

Pros:
+ There are 80 colors (some are matte and others are shimmer)
+ The packaging is pretty
+ Travel-friendly package

Cons:
- For the quality, you get it's way too expensive
- Can't blend them together (it becomes muddy in one swipe)
- Aren't really opaque
- You can't pack color for more opacity

Overall
I don't like it. I wouldn't buy it if I had the chance. I wanted to like it, I really did but it didn't work for me. And compared to the CS88 palette, the CS palette is way better. This palette may work for someone who's just starting or someone who doesn't like their eyeshadows pigmented.

Acrylic Flower over Blue

Hi dolls,

I didn't feel like changing my manicure again so I just tested the kit I got today from BornPrettyStore
I used the flower mold (Sakura) and the light blue and pink acrylic powder.

It's really hard to capture on camera, so the pictures are what they are...  I'm currently not sure if I like it or not.

What do you think? Do you like it?

NOTD: Essence Cool and the Gang

Hi,
On Nihrida's blog I saw this beauty a while ago. It was love at first sight, but I forgot about it nonetheless. But yesterday I saw it in our Muller (it was the last one!) and I had to have it.
It's nothing like the blues I already own.

I can't decide if it's an Ultramarine Blue or Persian Blue. From the Hex triplet I'd say it's a Persian Blue ^^.

Anyway it is very special. I like how in the shadow it looks quite dark (more like an indigo color) and in the sun it's super vivid and a bit of jelly looking.

I applied two thicker coats and some bubbles formed. And the brush is terrible. It truly is. It's huge, super soft and hard to use. I had to clean up my nails after the apply :/.

I think his color is pretty much magic and a must have ^^!

NOTD: Deborah Mini Stardust 26

For the last three days I've been wearing this pretty nail polish. I needed three thin coats, because it got bald spots.
I sadly got bored of it really quickly (on day 2). But it didn't look like it wants to chip so that's always a plus.

Essence BBC All Night Brown Gel Liner (Bondi Beach TE)

Last week I got this gorgeous brown liner from Essence. It's from the Limited Edition Bondi Beach. I really liked it in the pot, but when I got home and opened it, I realized some filthy girl put her filthy little finger in it!! And I couldn't go back and change it, because it was the last one :/.
So I just cleaned with a tissue the part where the finger went.

To the brighter news. It's a divine medium brown with bronze sparkles in it. Gorgeous!
And it's actually my 2nd gel liner ever. My first one is a fake mac (from ebay, haha!), that works really well.

This gel liner is softer, so you have to be careful when you dip your brush into it.

The packaging is super cute and small! Tiny tiny little thing <3. I'm in love with gel liner pots.

And some swatches

The lower black thing is my other black gel liner and on the left it's mixed with the brown one.

I must say only one thing about it. It's waterproof. And I mean it. It took me a lot of scrubbing and soap to get it off my hands. And even then it left a tiny stain.

But when it comes to my eyelids (which are oily) it stays put on all day, but not in the outer corners of my watery eyes. It easily comes off with oil or oil based cleanser.

The great thing is that you can tone it down if you think it's too strong. On the picture I applied 1 thin layer of it and over I applied some eyeshadow (just because).

Pros:
+ Price
+ Great packaging
+ Lovely color
+ Long lasting
+ Waterproof

Cons:
-Doesn't last on my watery outer corners

Rating: 4/5
Price: 5/5

Overall I think this was a great purchase!

Review: Geo Princess Mimi Apple Green

I got a new sponsored pair of circle lenses for review purposes. It's been a while since I ordered circle lenses so I forgot how I looked with them.

I got them from the lovely I want cute site, which is owned by Karyan. I love the bunny logo, it totally won me when I first saw it. It's one of the reasons why I decided to contact them in the first place.
What to say, I'm all about cute sites!

They had to preorder my lenses since I'm blind as a mouse. But even with preorder, they came pretty quickly (Less than 1 month).

I remember the huge fiasco (completely different site) a while ago which included me preordering about 14 pairs of lenses and ending with some massive refund and 3 actual pairs got. That's why I was a bit skeptic if this will work. But luckily it did and now I have a new pair of lenses to review! ^^

But let's move to the lenses, shall we?

They came neatly package in two envelopes. Inside I got one lens case (I was hoping for that), 10% discount code (you can get 10% off if you enter code CHERRYCOLORS) and some instructions.

The lenses come in vials (as usual) and have a life span of 1 year when opened. But you have to change the solution (in your lens cases, not vials!) at least every 30 days - if you're not wearing them, that's it.

● Base Curve 8.7

● Diameter 15.0mm

● Water % of Content: 42%
● Lens Type: 1 year disposable
● Manufacturer: Geo Medical

First here's a picture of me without the lenses (sorry, it's recycled because I forgot to take them)

One eye only (worn)

And some full face pictures!

I have to say one thing. THEY ARE HUGE!
And well they creep the hell out of me if I'm not wearing any makeup. I look like an alien, hahaha. But with makeup (and on pictures!) they do actually look good.

Of course, they are nowhere close to natural looking, but that's because of the huge black rim. But what did you expect from 15mm lenses?

Enlargement: 10/10
These are some seriously huge lenses! They make my eyes look super big and I'm not sure if I like that.

Color/Design: 7/10
They are green, but my eyes aren't as green. I was expecting them to blend in better, but the black rim stands out too much. But otherwise, they are fine. The brown/green part of them blends in nicely.

Comfort: 10/10
My first Geo Lenses were Angel Green's and they weren't comfortable, the next one had some stars on them and they were terrible! Super uncomfortable. I was expecting these to be similar, but wow. They are some very comfortable! I wore them for a couple of hours and couldn't feel them. I liked that aspect of them. ^^

Overall:
I think the lenses are super comfortable, the design blends in nicely and the black rim adds the 'my eyes are super huge and doll-like' aspect. Since I'm all about natural looking lenses I'd prefer the rim being a little bit smaller/toned down.

NOTD: Butterfly Nail Wraps Water Decals

I got a bunch of water decals nail wraps from Viva La Nails (you remember them from last time, right?).

They look like regular nail wraps and since I didn't bother purchasing any of them from other companies (like Essence, which I read are crap like!), I was really excited to try these out.

This time I'll show you the ones with butterflies.

 Here is the official photo

And on my nails

I must say that I thought this was going to be very time consuming. But I found out some tricks that I used which shortened the application time a lot.

Tips&Tricks:
*Just cut the decals so they somehow match the length/width of your nails
*Put one by one in the water and wait about 10 seconds.
*Take out one by one and apply on nails. Don't worry if the decal is way too big for your nail.
*Wait a couple of seconds so it dries. And apply top coat.
*With an orange stick pull down the now melted water decal around the nail.
*You're done!

Simple right? I didn't have to file them down as the instructions said. This way it's so much less time consuming and you can easily use the whole decals (they are too big anyway) for more than just one nail.

Oh and I applied them over my previous manicure, it started to chip so I played the 'I'm super lazy' card and just applied them over it. And now I have a fresh manicure ;D.
