Summer With La Roche-Posay Sunscreens

Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics

We all know what time it's now, don't we? It's summertime!

And with summer there comes the extreme heat and sunny days. I love sunny days and visits to the beach. Luckily I live close to a couple of beaches and I feel extremely lucky because of it.

With summer also comes the need to use high SPF on our face and bodies.
I mostly use SPF daily on my face as a way to keep my skin from ageing too fast, but during the hotter days, I apply it on my body, too.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SHAKA

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Shaka Fluid is a solar fluid, which helps to moisturize and protect the skin with extreme photosensitivity.
Moisturizes gently, without oily sensation. Protects against burns and side reactions caused by sun exposure. Provides very high solar protection FPS50 + and photoblemable. Does not block the pores. Waterproof. Ideal for sensitive skin intolerant and with allergic reaction. High tolerance, without perfume, without parabens.

For my face, I like to try different brands depending on the season.
For winter I pick heavier sun creams, but for summer I prefer lighter formulations.

One of the lighter formulated sunscreen is by La Roche-Posay Anthelios SHAKA.
It's a light sunscreen, that feels watery but applies smoothly. Once applied it feels a bit velvety and very light on the skin.
I do know that I'm wearing it, but it's not heavy. It feels comfortable.

I picked it because I read so many good reviews about it. Plus it has a high PPD rating (46 which is high).

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SHAKA

  • has very high sun protection
  • protects the skin against premature ageing
  • prevents uneven skin pigmentation
  • prevents skin from drying out
  • hydrates and nourishes
  • is absorbed quickly
  • the product is waterproof
  • easy to spread without leaving an oily film
  • dermatologically tested

I enjoy the light feeling it has after application - it doesn't feel like sunscreen. Plus I know that when I'm wearing it, I'm protected

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SHAKA

I am not that picky when it comes to sunscreen for my body. I prefer that it doesn't leave a super white cast for too long and that I don't sweat too much under it.

Wearing sunscreen during the day is super important, especially for those that have a sun allergy. Sunscreen and protective clothing.

Last year I used the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Comforting Sunscreen 50+, which was fantastic!

This year I'm testing (well, the whole family is!) the La Roche-PosayAnthelios Dermo-Pediatrics

  • provides a high and broad-spectrum protection against UV rays
  • has a smooth texture, spreads easily
  • tested under the supervision of dermatologists
  • waterproof and non-comedogenic

Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics

How do I like it?

Well, truth to be told, I feel that it's a tad whiter than the XL version. I like using it - it sinks in quickly enough for such a heavy sunscreen. It's not super heavy, but it is white. And for that to sink it, it takes about 10 minutes. After that, you're good to go.
I use it right when I get on the beach and a couple of minutes before we got into the water. I know that I need to start applying sunscreen at home before we go anywhere, but I'm still getting the hang of it.
It has no scent so it's suitable even for smaller kids. Plus if you start them young with the sunscreen, it gets easier each year.
I remember when my kid was small - he hated sunscreen. But now, a couple of years later, he applies it himself and asks for help for the places he can't reach.

So far we are really happy with the Anthelios Dermo-Pediatrics, my only complaint/wish is that they could make a sturdier cap, as it feels like it could break easily. And with kids, you're always just one step from an accident, so. A sturdier bottle would be awesome!

Whichever sunscreen you prefer, you can find a wide variety on Notino
