Not so long ago I noticed that I got some flakes on my hair. Not those "regular" ones that most would call dandruff, but other "heavier ones".
After some extensive googling I realized that it must be dandruff. But not the dry kind but the oily kind.
Who knew there was a difference?
Anyhow, I decided to go "to battle" and find a couple of products that could help with my hair.
Keeping My Hair Dandruff Free
I got two products ready to go. One is meant for daily use and it's a gentle gel shampoo while the other (that's also meant for daily use but I can't do that) is a bit more hardcore and I use it more like a weekly "cleansing mask".
ALPECIN DANDRUFF KILLER SHAMPOO
I first started with Alpecin Killer Shampoo.
The name is really hardcore and at first, I thought it was an anti-flea shampoo. I mean, it looks like some sort of poison for all the troubling creatures that live on our scalp (if any).

This is my to-go hardcore cleansing shampoo. I use it when I don't wash my hair for a couple of days (too long) and I need to get rid of all the build-up and dirt quickly.
It leathers really well, has a blue/green color (think Head & Shoulders) and has a similar minty effect on the scalp. If I leave it on for too long I get cold as it does feel pretty refreshing.
It does its job well and I like using it sparingly. I know it says it's for daily use but it is super cleansing and it does dry out my curls a bit.
LA ROCHE-POSAY KERIUM ANTI DANDRUFF SHAMPOO
That's why for daily use I use the La Roche-Posay Kerium Anti - Dandruff Gel Shampoo.
This one is gentler and is targeted especially for oily dandruff. The scent is very clean and nice, using it it's really like going to the spa. It's a nice experience.
The gel shampoo doesn't have any colour and is really easy to overuse as it doesn't leather as much as Alpecin does.
Because it's so gentle on the scalp and hair I can use it daily without any problems.

Both of them work alone just fine but together they make small miracles for my hair. My scalp isn't as irritated as before (it's sensitive to a bunch of things) and the best of all - I don't have any dandruff!

Here's a photo of me being all happy holding the two hair saviours with one hand. That's a hard job to do. I have a lovely filter on and no makeup - if you have told me 10 years ago that today we'd have such great (makeup?) filters on our phones, I wouldn't have believed you!
