I was always intrigued by LUSH fresh masks. But there are so many - which should I pick?
I had a problem picking just one, but when I actually did want to get just one, I had another problem - a very hot summer day and even if you have about 7 hours before you need to refrigerate the mask again, I didn't want to risk it. I wanted my mask to be super-fresh and stay that way!
Anyway, last month I got this mask (and 3 others!) and because the weather has been very moody, it's been easier to transport fresh masks from the store.
And now that I have it and have been using it for the past month, it's time to give my 2 cents about this mask - LUSH Cupcake.
LUSH Cupcake Fresh Mask
Okay, so what is it? What does it do? This is what they say at Lush's.
Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise. Smooth a generous layer of this mask onto your face and leave for 10 to 15 minutes.
I always feel that LUSH's product descriptions are a bit vague. Maybe not when it comes to facial masks but when it comes to hair stuff, yeah, most definitely.

Cons:
- needs to be used in a month
- it's mid-priced about 10€
- the scent is quite strong
- can be a bit drying
The mask comes packaged in the well-known Lush black pot. It contains about 75g of product. I say about because usually Lush products are overfilled and thus you get more than what you pay for!
It has a pretty strong chocolatey + something sweet kind of scent that overflows when you open the pot. The texture is a bit rough but still smooth enough to spread it easily on your face.
After I applied the mask, I waited for 15 minutes so it had a bit time to dry before I washed it off with warm water.
What did it do for my skin?
My skin felt smooth and soft after I took off the mask. I didn't notice any change in my pores, the texture of my skin or anything else. But it was a nice pampering experience. Especially since you can still smell the mask while you're wearing it. It also gives you a cooling effect. I think it would be wonderful to use during the warmer months as I really liked the cooling effect!
Overall:
This mask is a fun experience but it's not my favorite. It has clay in it so it can be a bit drying if left for too long. It is best suited for oily and problematic skin and I currently have OK skin.
It did help with a bit of redness I had and I am willing to try it again in the Summer months because of its cooling effect. Overall I'm not too impressed but it's not bad either. It's a fun little mask but I want to try them all!
Since you only have a month to use it (but I hear it's still good a bit longer than that) I'm looking for ways to use it up. Any tips?
