Catrice + Disney The Jungle Book Eyeshadow Palette

It's been a while since I played with some new makeup releases. But when I got into our local Muller I couldn't resist the cute packaging and the fantastic pigmentation from the new LE by Catrice

It's a Disney-themed collection named The Jungle Book and the Essence Lion King LE comes with it.

The CATRICE Disney The Jungle Book Eyeshadow Palette comes with 15 different, colour-coordinated shades inspired by the best friends Mowgli, Hathi Jr, Baloo and Bagheera. Thanks to the highly-pigmented finishes in silky-matte and metallic, a variety of eye-catching styles are guaranteed! An absolute highlight in every beauty case: The super-cute packaging in pastel shades and The Jungle Book characters.

I was asking on my Instagram profile which eyeshadow palette I should use first and you guys picked the Catrice Jungle book palette.

I know I said I'd do a more daily kind of look, but to be honest I couldn't resist all the amazing colours. The hot pink (desirable) and vivid green (jungle bum) are both my favourites!

I love how easily was the application. I had no problem with picking and building colours. Even with a regular eyeshadow primer I currently use. It's not supposed to make any colour pop, but it's more of a "keep it in place" sort of primer.

I really like how there's a combination of everyday colours - like the almost-white Forevermore and the Howling. Both are great as makeup starters. A base and a light crease if you will.
And then a bit crazy colours are also wow - just wow! It feels a bit daring to use such bold colours after almost a year of hardly any makeup. But I do enjoy it!

I must admit that I left my eyebrows untamed and used just a bit of eyebrows mascara. From far away it looks good, but up close, not so much, haha.

On my waterline, I used an Artdeco soft waterproof eye pencil in white.  And boy does it hold!

Eyeshadows can be used to create the most diverse effects: A mono look, for example, is ideal for expressive statement eye make-up styles. A light shade in the inner corner of the eye and a darker shade on the outer corner make the eyes look further apart – and vice versa. A shimmering, light shade on the moveable part of the lid and a darker, matte shade in the crease create a cool 3D effect.

My foundation could be clearer because I used a mattifying BB cushion that clings to every single dry bit. Even if I used the Catrice Jungle Book Face Serum. It's a lovely serum but my skin obviously needs something more.  Next time I'm planning on using the Catrice True Skin Hydrating Foundation because I think it will work better for me.

The colour choices are beautiful - the vivid pinkish colour feels like a '90s throwback and I'm here for it.
The vivid green needs a base colour as it's glitter. But such a lovely glitter, that is tightly packed!

Overall I am a fan of the palette. I've been sweating with the makeup for a while and it stayed intact. Plus the colours are still bold and beautiful.  What more would I want?
