Mascara for sensitive eyes

Essence Mascara for sensitive eyes

With allergy season in full bloom, it was time for me to find a mascara that wouldn't irritate my eyes
I was looking for something that I could wear while using contact lenses. And for a mascara that wouldn't burn when it would inevitably run.

Of course, the mascara I was looking for had to be inexpensive, because I never got used to paying a lot of money for a mascara. Mainly because there are so many amazing ones that cost almost nothing.

I came across Essence Sensitive But WOW Volume mascara and decided to give it a go.

The sensitive BUT WOW VOLUME mascara is suitable for sensitive eyes and even for contact lens wearers – this has been ophthalmologically tested and confirmed. It provides the lashes with natural volume and nourishes them thanks to calendula and chamomile blossom water. Another plus: the texture is easy to remove without eye make-up remover – warm water is all you need.

The mascara for sensitive eyes comes in beautiful turquoise packaging. That's something that caught my eyes. The design feels young and hip. It is actually pretty cute.

The mascara wand is medium-sized, with bristles that are uniform on all sides. It looks like most volumising mascaras do.

The biggest difference is the formula. I've had it for only a couple of weeks and in this time it remained a rather wet mascara. Because of it, I am having quite a problem while applying it in the mornings when my eyes are still a bit puffy.

Characteristics:

  • ensures full volume in one coat
  • separates each individual lash
  • quick and easy to apply

I usually still manage to apply it nicer when I did for the photos. That was a bit of an oopsy.
But even with my bad application, the mascara is clearly volumising. I enjoy using it because when I will get runny eyes I won't be suffering from burning eyes too. That's a plus,

I would prefer it to be completely waterproof because that's what I'm used to. But it is still lovely not having to worry if I'll manage to remove the whole of it at night.

Mascara for sensitive eyes

OVERALL:

This s a lovely mascara for sensitive eyes/contact lens users. I remember when I used regular mascaras with my contact lenses and sometimes I would get a speck of mascara on my lens. And it just wouldn't get off. I had to ditch the lens then. And well, it is way easier getting a new mascara that is targeted at contact lens users than changing lenses all the time.
My only wish is that companies would start making mascaras for sensitive eyes in waterproof versions. That would be amazing!
Other than that, this comes pretty close to all that I want from a mascara.
