It's been a while since I reviewed something for oral hygiene. Especially since maintaining good oral hygiene is important for overall health.
I decided to try the Hismile PAP + whitening powder and toothpaste this time. I bought some products from them but was mostly interested in their toothpaste. They are quite creative - with some quirky names and well, flavors. Like cake. Or banana. Watermelon. Ice cream. I mean there are many and they all sound a bit cuckoo.
But for today let us focus on the whitening products as that's something most people are interested in.

I got it with the powder and I never used it alone. I somehow see it as a "bundle" kind of thing. It can be used daily on its own without any issues.
I like the design of the tube of the PAP + Whitening Toothpaste and the powder pot. The color is spot on and looks very fancy in my bathroom.

When PAP+ whitens, it oxidises tooth stains without releasing harmful molecules known as free radicals. The powder comes in this neat pot. It's pretty but it does have a scent. To me, it smells like bleach even if it's supposedly not bleach.
It's easy to use - just dip the wet toothbrush into the powder. You can put toothpaste instead of water, the powder will stick to it even better.
The instructions are simple enough:
- Wet the toothbrush
- Dip the brush into the powder
- Brush your teeth for 1 minute
- Rinse your mouth with water
And done!
I found that the powder was very foamy when mixed with toothpaste. This didn't bother me, but it's something to be aware of if you don't like foamy toothpaste.
My Experience:
I didn't notice something like "WOW my teeth are so white". But I did notice a fresher feeling. Like the feeling "my teeth are super clean now!". That one was drastically noticeable.
It was like the feeling I got when I first started using an electric toothbrush. Super clean teeth!
However, I did have some teeth sensitivities for the first 2 uses. I could feel the sensitivities in my teeth where I had my root canal done. It was weird and it freaked me out a bit. I didn't use it for a couple of weeks after that.
The second time there was less sensitivity, but there was still some. Luckily it was short-lived.
PROS:
- Peroxide-free
- Safe for enamel
- Easy to use
- Nice packaging design
- A little bit goes a long way
CONS:
- Can be expensive (18€ for the powder and 10€ for the toothpaste)
- Didn't really whiten my teeth (does that mean I don't have stained teeth?)
Overall:
I have used the HiSmile PAP+ Whitening Powder & toothpaste combination for a few weeks now. I like that it is peroxide-free and safe for enamel. I also like that it is easy to use. Simply mix a small amount of the powder with your regular toothpaste and brush your teeth for one minute.
I have not noticed any significant whitening yet, but my teeth do feel very clean and fresh after using the powder. I will continue to use it and see if I notice any whitening results over time.
Overall, I am happy with the HiSmile PAP+ Whitening Powder & toothpaste. It is a good option for people who are looking for a peroxide-free teeth-whitening powder that is safe for enamel and easy to use. It's helpful with stains that are left by coffee, wine, and cigarettes. Or if you like chocolatey things like me, in that case, chocolate.
