Artdeco Eyeshadow Base

Artdeco Eyeshadow Base

I know I'm practically calling the Spring with my first picture, but I couldn't resist when I found some Winter roses in our garden. They were the perfect backdrop for this small beauty - the Artdeco Eyeshadow Base
This is an eyeshadow primer that has been a crowd's favourite for quite a while. It came out more than 10 years ago. I am not sure if the formula got re-done in all this time and I can't really remember if it was the same back when I first used it.

As soon as you try it, you will never want to let it go. The Artdeco Eye Shadow Base helps correct imperfections and uneven skin tone. It creates a perfect neutral base coat on the eyelids, preparing them for the application of eyeshadow.

The eyeshadow base comes in a small lovely pot - there are 5ml of product in it. That may not seem a lot, but in all honesty, it will last you a very long time.

The Artdeco eyeshadow base is a light, cream colour. It dissolves into a very sheer shimmery nude on the skin. It creates a smooth surface for the eyeshadow to stick to.
But even if you don't want to use an eyeshadow over it, that's okay. A tad of a nude or translucent setting powder and you're good to go!

Artdeco Eyeshadow Base

  • acts as a great base for eyeshadow and helps with its application
  • extends the flawless look and durability of your eyeshadow considerably
  • intensifies the colour and liveliness of your eyeshadow
  • has excellent coverage and unifies the skin tone of your eyelids
  • thanks to its creamy texture, it applies easily and doesn’t dry out the skin
  • suitable for use under any type of eyeshadow

I have oily eyelids but it can be work for dry eyelids too. The eyeshadow primer is tris light cream that doesn't feel drying on my skin. Plus after the application, I can't feel it - with some eyeshadows primers you know that you're wearing it. That's always a bonus!

How to apply:

Apply a thin layer of product using your finger or a synthetic brush all over your eyelid and blend out evenly. Then proceed to apply the eyeshadow of your choice.

There are certain eyeshadow primers that don't work with oily eyelids but luckily this isn't one of them. I can apply it in the morning and the eyeshadow will still be there by evening!

It contains:

  • bisabolol – soothes the skin and neutralises the red tones of the eyelids
  • vitamin E – nourishes and protects the skin

Plus I love pots! They are cute, can be a bit unhygienic but it's usually nothing to worry about. You just need to use or a clean brush or clean fingers to get the product out

OVERALL:

I think this little pot looks a bit underwhelming, but in truth, it's a little gem
I've tried several eyeshadow primers but there aren't many that do it for me. I need something that will keep the eyeshadow intact for at least 8 hours. And luckily this little guy does it. It helps to smooth my eyelid and making it a tad sticky for easier eyeshadow application. The colours look move vividly with it and the blending is super easy!
Plus the price is extremely affordable - less than 10€ for an eyeshadow primer. And it's not like you'll use it up in a week, no. You'll probably have it for more than 6 months. What to say? I'm a fan!
If you're curious you can get it on Notino and see for yourself.
