Bioderma Hydrabio H2O + Creme

Every day, pollution, stress, cold weather, etc. disrupt the skin's cellular activity. It no longer knows how to deeply generate or retain on the surface the water it needs for its natural balance.
The skin becomes dehydrated, uncomfortable and more sensitive and loses its radiance.
Found in the full range of Hydrabio products, the Aquagenium™ patent stimulates the skin's cellular capacities and reactivates its natural hydration process*. *upper layers of the skin

Well, this sounded promising, but how well did it do on my dehydrated combination skin? Let's find it out in the post below.

Hydrabio

Dehydrated sensitive skin

For my testing, I received two products - the Bioderma Hydrabio H2O and the Creme which is a moisturizing rich cream.

 Bioderma Hydrabio H2O

Hydrabio H2O is the 1st and only dermatological micellar water perfectly compatible with the skin. Its fatty acid esters, the constituent elements of micelles, are similar to the phospholipids of the skin cell membranes and naturally help rebuild the skin's hydrolipidic film. Thus, Hydrabio H2O guarantees unrivalled tolerance and comfort for optimum make-up removing efficacy. Moreover, its Aquagenium™ exclusive biological patent retrains the skin to activate its natural moisturising capacities by stimulating the production of aquaporins, water channels in the skin, and retain the water it needs to be balanced.

It all sounds amazing, doesn't it?

Well, truth to be told, I used the first Bioderma H2O micellar water a while ago. I loved it dearly as it didn't irritate my skin or my eyes and it was excellent at removing makeup.

If I compare the two I used, I can say that the Hydrabio H2O makes my skin feel softer but with the same efficiency at removing makeup. Other that that I didn't notice a big difference between the two. But I am sure that girls with dry would notice a bigger difference.
Overall Bioderma H2O and now Bioderma Hydrabio H2O remains my favorite micellar water. Efficient and gentle to the skin.

+ Cute packaging
+ great at removing makeup
+ gentle to the skin
+ a little drop goes a long way
+ great for dry skin!

Hydrabio Crème

The patented biological complex Aquagenium™ generates intense hydration, immediately and lastingly:
Vitamin PP strengthens skin resistance and impermeability
Apple seed extract stimulates the activity of Aquaporins, which are the natural channels allowing water flow within the skin.
The rich and creamy texture of Hydrabio Crème intensely nourishes the skin.
Thanks to an emulsion inspired by the structure of the epidermis, the active ingredients of the Aquagénium™ patent penetrate deeply and in a more targeted manner. The skin thus regains its natural hydration capacities, for intense radiance. In a lasting way.
Smoothes skin texture
By eliminating dead cell and reducing progressively the corneum stratum thickness, the salicylic acid evens up and smoothes the skin, for a long-lasting radiant complexion.
Prevents from premature skin ageing
Vitamin E helps to protect the skin against oxidative stress and combat premature cutaneous ageing.

This cream is meant for dry to very dry skin and since I have mixed skin it's not really for my skin. But I got it anyway and I didn't do my research before testing it. This means that these results are for my skin - dehydrated combination skin. And not the skin it was meant for - dry to very dry.

The first thing I noticed it's that it comes with a spatula. I love spatulas since they make scooping out the product so much easier and hygienic. Of course, I managed to lose mine about two weeks in. I wish it would be as small to be able to fit under the cover or maybe have a separate holder on the cream for it (like the Etude House Bubble Tea sleeping packs!).

The cream is this thick, rich cream that creates a film over your skin. I was testing it in the middle of Summer, so a lot of sweating ensured while I used it in the morning. When I switched to nightly use, it was fine.

+ Lovely design of the packaging
+ comes with a spatula, yay!
+ the consistency is amazing, very sleek and thick
+ Good for dry skin
+ Smells nice (fresh and a bit floral)
+ can work for combination skin too if used as a night sleeping pack
+ a little bit goes a long way

- creates a layer on the skin (could be good)
- price (18 € / 50 ml)
- didn't really absorb in my skin (it's more of an occlusive)

I felt like this cream is more of an occlusive sort of a cream - they stay on the surface of the skin and are not well absorbed. Which is not really bad if your skin is dry and need an extra layer of protection against the world (or you know, you don't want all the moisture you put on your skin to just escape).

Once I realized that, I used it as such. So as the last step in my nightly routine. It was heavy on my skin, yes, but for here and there and instead of a sleeping pack, it did well. But it didn't do well as a daily cream because it's just too heavy for my skin type (combination).

Hydrabio Cream:
I feel that if I did my research a bit better, I'd know what to expect from this cream. It never dawned on me that it's not meant for my skin type, but once I found a way to incorporate it into my routine, I managed to make it work for my mixed skin.

As for the Hydrabio H2O micellar water, I think it's excellent. I will keep repurchasing their classic version, sometimes maybe even this because I like both. Since I have mixed skin I didn't notice a big difference in effect from both, but I do like them anyway.
